My name is Russell Bryant. I am a Software Engineer with a passion for open source.
I graduated from Clemson University in the Fall of 2006 with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering. Since the Fall of 2004, I have been a core member of the Asterisk development team. I was hired by Digium early in 2005 and worked part-time until I graduated from college. I have been a full time Software Engineer for Digium since January of 2007.
I became Asterisk’s first release maintainer when Asterisk 1.0 was released at the first Astricon in 2004. I have since contributed to almost all areas of Asterisk development. I have interests from project management to core Asterisk architectural development.
My current position at Digium is that I am the Open Source Team Lead of our Software Engineering department. In this position, I get to work with Kevin P. Fleming, The Director of Software Technologies, and the rest of the Digium Software team to drive the Asterisk project.
This site features release announcements, information about development projects that myself or others are working on, and various other things that pertain to my personal development efforts, as well as others in the Asterisk development community.
